How To Find Who Links To My Site

As a website owner/blogger, it is important to know which all websites are linking back to your site. Links from popular sites mean better exposure for your blog and increased credibility. Following are the two ways in which you can check out on who links to your website.

Google

Option 1

In the Google search box, just type in link:www.yourwebsiteurl.com replacing the yourwebsiteurl by your own domain name and click on search. The search results would represent the set of web pages that have a link pointed to this very URL.

Option 2

If you have Google webmaster configured for your site, all you need to do is click on the URL of your site that is displayed inside the webmaster window ( see the image below )

Google Webmaster How To Find Who Links To My SiteYou just need to click on the website URL and it will take you to a page which will have a heading <Links to your site> that will list all the URLs which link to your website. Note that this is the data that Google would have obtained as a by-product of crawling other websites that were linking to you.

You can also discover other useful information like popular keywords, crawl errors or any broken links detected on your website inside webmaster tools.

Yahoo

You can also get information about incoming links to your website using Yahoo Site Explorer. It provides information about all incoming links as detected by Yahoo search.

  • Just enter your URL in the box and click on <Explore URL> button. It will display a list of links from your websites.
  • On a given link eg which could be one of your blog post URL, just click on <Explore> button.
  • On top you will see an <InLinks> button – clicking which you can find a list of all websites that are linking to this very blog post.

Do you know of any other better ways to get this information? If yes how about sharing the same in the comments section below.
